Before your visit

We highly recommend booking in advance to guarantee a spot as there are a limited number of harnesses for rent. During high season, the park is often fully booked. However, if you have not booked a ticket in advance and there are available spots left on the day, you can buy a ticket on site.

The climbing time is 3 hours during regular opening hours.

Wear comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for movement and weather conditions. Closed shoes with good grip are required.

There is no problem climbing in the rain, the most important thing is that you have the right clothes on so you do not freeze or get wet.

Yes, dogs are allowed in the park. The dog needs to be on a leash.

Yes, you can bring food, drinks and snacks to the park. 

Age and height requirements

The courses are colour-coded by difficulty: orange is the easiest, followed by green, blue and red, which is the most challenging. Each course has minimum height and age requirements, and as long as you meet them, you can climb any course as many times as you like during your three-hour session.

The minimum height and age requirements are:
110 cm (children under 6 years old must be accompanied by an adult in the course)
140 cm (children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult in the course)
150 cm (children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult in the course)

As well as height requirement, children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a climbing adult when climbing the green courses. Children under the age of 10 must hbe accompanied by a climbing adult in the blue and red courses.

Yes! Our courses are designed for both children and adults with different difficulty levels.

Children under the age of 16 without an accompanying adult must have a parent’s permit / approval to climb by themselves. Anyone under the age of 18 booking a ticket on their own must provide contact details of a next of kin or guardian.

Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a climbing adult in the green courses and children under 10 years must be accompanied by a climbing adult in the blue and red courses.

Getting to the park

Ylös & Alas Adventure Park is located in Ruka, Kuusamo, on the hillside above Ruka Village.

Parking is available in Ruka Village near the lifts.

Yes. A lift ticket is required to reach the park if you use the lift. The lift ticket is not included in the climbing park ticket.

Yes. The walk from Ruka Village takes approximately 15 minutes uphill.

Climbing in the park

No experience is needed. All climbers receive safety instructions before entering the courses.

Yes. Harness and safety equipment are included in the ticket price.

Yes. Visitors are welcome to accompany climbers in the park area.

Safety

Safety is our highest priority. The park uses a continuous safety system and all climbers receive safety instructions before starting.

Yes. Our trained instructors are present in the park and available to assist if needed.

The park may close temporarily in the event of thunder or extreme winds. If this happens, our instructors will help everyone get down from the courses safely. Once conditions improve, climbing will resume. Please note that temporary closures do not qualify for ticket refunds.

For everyone climbing in the park, the following terms of participation must be followed:
-Maximum weight 120 kg.
-Climbing is not allowed when pregnant.
-Climbing is not allowed when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
-Before climbing in the park, everyone must participate in the mandatory safety briefing led by an instructor.
-When climbing, the rules of the park must be followed (we go through the rules during the safety briefing).
